Solar lighting for a PRM path in RÉunion (974)

The PMR pathway at the Jumbo Score shopping center car park in Saint Pierre, Reunion Island (974) was equipped with eleven Novéa Énergies solar autonomous lampposts.

These are eleven stand-alone street lights that have been installed along a pedestrian street and PRM parking lot of this mall. The models chosen are COMBI TOP 2 with a 100 Wp solar panel, a GRIFF S luminaire and a 532 Wh battery.

The batteries of these stand-alone lamps are equipped with Endurance + technology, developed by Novéa in partnership with CEA. This technology, thanks to its Lithium LifePO4 cells and its unique management of energy flows, offers the best life of the market. LifePO4 batteries have been scientifically recognized as the most efficient and best suited to the solar street lighting market.

Traditional lighting would have required heavy civil works, and the impossibility of using all the parking spaces during the works (trench, repair of lane), which was problematic for the shopping mall. The solar solution requires only a concrete block for anchoring to the ground, which facilitated the installation on this car park.

The eleven solar street lights provide quality lighting that ensures the night comfort and safety of users of the parking of the Jumbo Score at Saint Pierre. Since their installation, luminaires light up every day in full power during the six hours after dusk before switching to 50% dimming mode to ensure markup for the rest of the night where parking is less frequent.

Public lighting powered by solar energy is an alternative to the consumption of fossil and polluting energies, which thus makes it possible to limit the environmental impacts. The sunshine of Reunion is exceptional, which is a boon for solar autonomous lighting. In addition, the operation of these street light being completely autonomous, no electric subscription to an energy supplier is necessary.
