Cameroon's regional capitals, including Bafoussam (the western regional capital), are now secured by 240 Novea Energies street lamps. The 240 Novea street lamps installed in the regional capitals of Cameroon are COMBI TOP 5 with GRIFF XL luminaire with a light height of 7 meters and equipped with a 270 Wp solar panel and a 1,408 Wh battery located under the solar panel, in a box with electronics management. All of these street lights are switched on at full power at dusk and light up for the next five hours. During the rest of the night, the streetlights switch to 50% dimming mode to ensure that areas are marked out when they are less frequented. This lowering of the lighting intensity when the need is low prolongs the life of the lamp post components, such as the battery and luminaire, which are actually less stressed. It also reduces the impact of lighting on fauna and flora while maintaining safety and comfort for the few users during this time period. The installation of these 240 autonomous streetlights has changed the lives of the inhabitants. People can now extend their daily activities after dark, without having to go home. Public lighting is a real vector of social cohesion, which contributes to revitalizing certain districts by encouraging commercial or catering activities in the evening. The pupils also take advantage of the light provided by the solar lampposts to review their lessons outside.
