Novéa Énergies, a leader and pionner in the development, design and manufacture of autonomous public lighting systems, has equipped the new parking lot of the SUPER U supermarket in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (France) with 18 solar-powered units. Located on the Vendée coast, the municipality of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie is renowned as a popular family seaside resort where the average population is multiplied by 5 during the summer months. It has been necessary for the supermarket to extend the parking lot to face this touristic rush. The supermarket’s management therefore called in the engineering firm Essor Ingénierie, to carry out the work and their choice quickly fell on Novéa Energies' autonomous solar-powered streetlights to secure this new section of parking lot at nightfall. This choice was made primarily for economic reasons: not only does the installation require no civil engineering work, it is also cost-effective in the long-term since the solar-powered units provide lighting without electricity consumption and therefore without generating electricity bills. It is also a virtuous choice since the Endurance+ battery lasts over 20 years, in line with current energy management policy. St Hilaire Electricité installed 18 Combi Top 5+ model streetlights in anthracite grey (RAL 7016) with Loxo luminaires to light the 209 parking spaces and make the area safer by making users, vehicles and spaces visible. 8 units are equipped with double-fires to make the spaces safer for people with reduced mobility. Last but not least, a communicating node has been installed on all the luminaires for efficient remote supervision of the lamppost.
