Novéa Énergies is a partner of électriciens sans frontières (ESF). As part of this partnership, 25 stand-alone solar street lights were installed in 2018 in Dominica and 20 in Saint Martin. In Dominica, the three sites selected and validated by the Ministry of Energy are located in Roseau, the capital of the island. They were already equipped with solar street lights that were completely or partially destroyed by the passage of Hurricane Maria in September 2017. That’s why the choice to replace them with solar street lights was natural. The desire to have a mast with removable panel was essential to prevent the risk of future cyclones. So, there are 25 stand-alone street lights that have been installed there. Of these, 18 are Combi Top 3 with Tekk S double-head luminaire with 819 Wh battery and 160 Wp solar panel (woodwill road), and 7 are Combi Top 2 with Tekk S single-head luminaire equipped with a panel of 100 Wp and a battery of 704 Wh (Link road and bridge stadium). In the case of the island Saint Martin, no solar street light was installed previously. The project aimed to secure a a path that was not illuminated until then. Thus 20 Combi Top 3 with Tekk S luminaire were installed. They have a battery of 819 Wh and a solar panel of 160 Wp. The fact of having removable photovoltaic panels in case of cyclone alert was also a wish for this project. All of these photovoltaic lamps, in Saint Martin and Dominica, operate for five hours at full power from dusk before going into standby mode at 40% until dawn. The quality lighting provided by the Novea Energies solar-powered streetlights ensures the comfort and safety of users. The choice of the autonomous was the simplest solution to meet the need for lighting. In traditional wired electric solution, heavy civil works (trench, track repair) and the establishment of network would have been very expensive. With solar autonomous, only a concrete block is sufficient for anchoring on the ground. The integration of this energy-autonomous lighting solution has facilitated installation work while limiting investment. Since 1986, ESF has been implementing electricity and water access projects for the poorest populations, in order to improve their living conditions by making access to energy a lever for human development. economic.
