Technological innovation at the service of our autonomous solutions

30/08/2022
Thanks to technological innovation, the performance of solar lighting has evolved significantly. The solutions have become relevant in many public lighting applications and are competitive with a traditional on-grid solution. For 15 years, each component has seen great improvements.

Battery
First of all, the lifespan of the battery has quadrupled, going from 5 to more than 20 years thanks to the change in technology, going from lead to Lithium Iron Phosphate, associated with management electronics specifically developed for our systems.
It is therefore more than six years of Research & Development in partnership with the CEA of Grenoble (Commission for Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies) and industrialisation that today make it possible to offer the most suitable battery technology and the most durable on the solar street lighting market.

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology was selected over other Lithium Ion, Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMh) or Lead technologies for its lifespan, high temperature resistance and energy efficiency. It is also scientifically recognisd as the best suited to the solar street lighting market.
It is also lighter and less bulky compared to other technologies. (3 times less than lead, 1.5 times less than Nimh) and more respectful of the environment because the components used (aluminum, lithium, iron and phosphate) allows to limit the environmental impacts during production, facilitate recycling and the use of primary resources is limited from the design of the sets, thanks to its exceptional performance.

Solars panels

Regarding solar panels, Novéa Energies integrates monocrystalline silicon technology into its solar lighting solutions, which allows for high energy efficiency. Over the years, the panels have experienced performance gains, offering more than 50% in energy production for the same surface. Today, this technological choice remains the most efficient and relevant on solar lighting solutions.

LED
Since 2007, LEDs have experienced a marked improvement in terms of performance, offering better yields. Thus, the performance of LEDs has gone from 40lm/W to 165 lm/W, making it the most suitable and efficient technology for solar lighting solutions because it consumes little energy.

With thousands of installations around the world, Novéa Energies confirms that its technological choices allows to offer high-performance and reliable solar lighting solutions.
In addition, the Research and Development department carries out constant monitoring in order to be aware of the latest technological advances, for always offering at its customers the best autonomous lighting solutions on the market.
