Novéa Énergies illuminates an access road from a college to Réunion Island

22 solar lighting solutions from the Combi Top range have illuminated an access road of the secondary school of Saint-Gilles-les Bains on Reunion Island. This is in order to secure pedestrians and bicycles passing on the road with an ecological and practical lighting (the on-grid solution being difficult to access).

The regional council of Reunion has chosen autonomous solar lighting solutions for the renovation of the Roquefeuil secondary school in Saint-Gilles-les Bains, located in the west of the island. The solar solution was selected to protect the environment and to respond to a difficulty of on-grid solution.

In order to illuminate the access road to the school and therefore secure pedestrians and bicycles, Novéa Énergies, after complete studies of the place and needs, proposed 20 Combi Top 2 to illuminate the roads and 2 Combi Top 5 double lights to illuminate the parking and the entrance of the school. The solar lighting solutions were colored in a RAL 8019 in the continuity of the building. The project brought together different actors; the SECAB company for the installation of solar lighting solutions, the INGETEC-INCOM association for project management and the road network company GTOI.

The autonomous lighting solutions, 6 meters high, are equipped with the St Luc bracket and the Tekk S luminaire, made in France by Ragni. For more information on the luminaire ranges, you can refer to the new Ragni catalogue: (Ragni Catalogue).

The poles have also benefited from a “seashore” treatment to protect them from corrosion, high in maritime areas.

To illuminate the place efficiently and justly, the solar lighting solution are programmed to light up 4 hours at 100% at sunset then go on dimming mode at 10% and then turn on again for 2 hours before dawn at maximum capacity.

This program allows to illuminate the passage and thus secure passers-by in the hours of activities of the school and to save energy when the place is not frequented. The solar lighting solutions are tailor-made, as close as possible to the customer’s needs in order to limit unnecessary lighting periods.

This choice of programming is part of a global approach of Novéa Energies of eco-design, which the company carries from the choice of its materials to the technology used, to the recycling to the subcontracting. Thus, this project once again responds to the challenges of solar lighting fixed by Novéa Énergies; illuminate in a fair and sustainable way for users and the environment.
